A group of local fellas came together for the Men’s Health Day at GEGAC on Wednesday, kitted out in deadly red “Da Mob 3875” hoodies designed by local man Trey Baxter.
A strong group of local men made a positive step for their own health, wellbeing and sense of community this week, by attending our Men’s Health Day at GEGAC on Wednesday.
Organised by GEGAC’S Social and Emotional Wellbeing team, and supported by our Aboriginal Health Team and Healthy Lifestyles workers, the gathering was the latest in a series of events GEGAC has put on in the past few months to connect more men to GEGAC’s services and encourage them to be engaged in their own health journey.
GEGAC’s Quaranook Engagement Officer, Scott King, one of the organisers of the Men’s Health Day, said he was hugely appreciative of the GEGAC Aboriginal Health Team for coming along to yarn with the fellas on the day, and to book many of them in for their free 715 Health Checks.
“Michelle and her team did a deadly job of hooking the fellas up with their health checks and making sure they knew how it easy it is to access top-notch services here at GEGAC,” he said.
“A good number of the men that came down on Wednesday got booked in for their health checks, and that’s a great result not only for themselves and their families, but also the wider community.”
The signed Essendon jersey was won by Robert Mason.
A big thanks to Bairnsdale Meat Supply for supporting the event!
