All clients and patients of GEGAC have certain rights and responsibilities.

Your Rights

As a client or patient of GEGAC, you have a right to:

  • High Quality Care: cultural, safe, effective, joined-up and person-centred care
  • Safety: in our buildings, online, and in any care setting
  • Respect: from everyone, all the time
  • Access: to the services you need, in a way that works for you
  • Participate: in the plans and care that effect you
  • Information: of the names of the professionals supporting you, the services that are being offered, the effectiveness of these services
  • Options: you can seek out different services and different workers, or you can seek out a Manager to help you with a concern
  • Interpreters: to help with communication
  • An advocate: to help with making decisions
  • Privacy: your private information will be treated confidentially
  • Provide Feedback: you can make a complaint, give a compliment, and help us improve our services
  • To your information: you can request your records

Your Responsibilities

As a client or patient of GEGAC, you have a responsibility to:

  • Participate: in the plans and care that effect you
  • Respect: staff and others, and treat them with courtesy, all the time
  • Not smoke: when at a GEGAC service
  • Not be intoxicated: when at a GEGAC service
  • Provide feedback: it is important you provide us with good and bad feedback so we can improve our services
  • Follow staff instructions: in the event of an emergency
